BYRDS and Sponsorship

Today has been quite an exciting day to be honest. I have been sorting things out so I can go to the BYRDS Dressage team selections at Willerby Hill in Hull with Ceaser. Keep your fingers crossed for us, but I will update more nearer the time.

I also realised today that I cannot achieve what I want to alone and have to accept help. So, I rang my local newspaper and asked them to run a story on myself and Ceaser and that we are searching for Sponsorship. They have agreed to run it and I just need to send photo's in of us now.

Its all systems go at the moment...

Hello!

First of all I would like to say thank you for choosing to view my new Blog. I have just designed my self a website for both my Equestrian and Journalism career and thought it would maybe help if I also had a Blog to accompany it.

As you have probably already guessed I am a 20-year-old (soon to be 21!) Equine Journalist in my last year of university. I have a monthly column in an Equestrian Magazine which has helped me enormously over the past three months build up my portfolio for my NCTJ work.

I have, for as long as I can remember had a passion for the written word. From an early age I was always found either writing or reading something - usually nonsense, but to me it meant everything. At the age of 14 I realised this is the sort of career I wanted, and from then on have never looked back.

As well as writing horse talk, I also live and breath them, and am setting my sights high for 2012 with my 14.1h coloured pony "Billy the kid". Ceaser to all his friends. He is 16, and so far has done well in Veteran Classes, both unaffiliated and affiliated, so I have decided 2012 will be our year we try to qualify for the Veteran of Britain Championships held at Olympia. As well as aiming for BYRDS affiliated dressage competitions.

I am currently looking for Sponsorship to help me along my way, so please if you are interested or know of anyone who may be then send them my way! More details can be found at my website.

Anyway, I hope this has given you a short but sweet insight as to what I am all about. Feel free to head over to my website to get a better look.

Sian
